Biodiesel Fuel

February 12, 2008

The Oregon-SW Washington Divisin has converted all ready-mix trucks, dump trucks, concrete pumps, and diesel-powered yard and plant equipment to blended Biodiesel fuel.
The soy-based Biodiesel blend is provided by Pacific Biofuels, a division of Carson Oil Company of Portland, and Renewable Energy Group, which operates Biodiesel plants in the Midwest. The Divisions program goes well beyond the City of Portland’s to the inclusion of fuel purchased for off-road use and in surrounding jurisdictions, including Southwest Washington.
"This is just the right thing to do, and its good business," said Mark Liefke, Vice President and General Manager for Oregon and Southwest Washington. "Even though our analysis shows it may cost the company more initially to use the Biodiesel fuel our return will be in doing our part to help save the environment and help with our ongoing efforts to maintain and build on our positive relationship in the communities where we work and do business."
