Environmental Position
CalPortland Company is an industry leader on energy conservation and environmental quality. We are an active member of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change Business Environmental Leadership Council. This group of major companies demonstrates worldwide leadership by establishing and meeting greenhouse gas emission reduction targets; investing in more efficient products, practices and technologies; and supporting domestic and internal action to achieve cost-effective emissions reductions.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized CalPortland six consecutive years (2005 - 2010) for Energy Star Sustained Excellence. The Colton and Mojave Cement Plants are also Energy Star Certified, an accomplishment the employees of CalPortland take very proudly. As active members in the environmental effort to voluntarily reduce Green House Gas, CalPortland is honored to be a member of EPA Climate Leaders.
